What a delightful welcome. This front door, painted by homeowner Sue, is adorned in the striking, near-violet blue, Resene Delta Blue. “I love myReseneDelta Blue front door, it’s so calming when I get home,” says Sue. “I could just hug it!”

Maureen knew that after getting her deSotogi Harmony artwork, she needed to create a living room with colours that were upbeat and clever. “I tried about 10 different Resene testpots before deciding on Resene Coast for the walls and Resene Black White for the ceiling and trims,” she says. “I was happy with the result; it gave the space an inviting and calming feel.” The contemporary and chic hue of Resene Coast contrasts beautifully with Maureen’s home décor – the rich red of the armchair and quirky flying ducks and her favourite artwork.

If you’ve got some colours in mind but can’t pick a favourite, head to your local Resene ColorShop to pick up some Resene testpots or view the collection of large Resene drawdown paint swatches in the instore colour library at your local Resene ColorShop.  If you want larger swatches to take home, the Resene ColorShop team can order these for you or you can order online at www.resene.com/drawdowns. Top tip: Make sure to move your painted swatches around the room or space you plan to paint at different times of the day so you can see how the colour will look.

Gentle Annie Seaside Accommodation and Camping Ground in Mokihinui constructed outdoor showers that are perfectly nestled into the west coast bush. Although the changing and drying areas are covered, the showers have an open roof so you can experience the beauty of nature as the water runs over you.

The showers are shaped like a koru, and each one is painted in a unique colour to represent the stunning native flora and fauna in the area. The yellow, Resene Wild Thing, represents the kōwhai flower, the pink and purple, Resene Rouge and Resene Reverie, represent the nīkau flowers, and the green, Resene Good To Go, represents the nīkau plant.

Aleisha from Waikato needed to refresh her homes exterior to get it ready for selling. She opted for a neutral colour scheme which would appeal to more home buyers, using Resene Double Rice Cake on all brick walls and Resene Nocturnal for the roof. After consulting with a Resene Colour Expert, Meryl Southey, Aleisha also took the advice to use a Resene CoolColour paint on the roof. This choice is a great selling point for potential buyers who can rest assured that the roof will reflect more heat than the standard colour would.

When Sue bought her home a few years ago, the whole interior was painted in a “non-descript light green”. She bought a bucket of Resene Half Black White not long after moving in and painted every speck of green away. Not long ago, Sue decided it was time to give this small space a revamp. What once was a study nook is now her dainty dining room.

“I went against other people's opinion of 'keeping it light' and painted one wall Resene Indian Ink,” says Sue. “Two coats brought out the true richness of the colour and I love the result. It was a boring, good for nothing room, and now it is a WOW factor.”

A colourful rainbow for a colourful shop. Sandra snapped this beautiful shot of a double rainbow over the Resene ColorShop in Levin.

And here’s your reminder that your old Resene paint buckets can be reused – even to help out with a temporary downpipe when the rain is heavy!
