18 Jun 2024

As the experts in colour forecasting, the Color Marketing Group (CMG) use their passion for colour to bring us the latest trends and influences from different hues and how we can work them into our homes.

We’re catching up from recent months to see what February and March brought us, along with some ideas on how you can use these hues in your home with Resene paints and wallpapers. Let's explore the colours defining this transitional period and how they can refresh and invigorate our surroundings:

February 2024: Jolting, energetic and visceral

Azoic, the 2024 Key Color for North America, is a vibrant green-based yellow that invigorates naturally, mentally and physically. Reminiscent of sulphur-rich hot springs, this high-energy hue enlivens home décor, textiles and accessories. It warms greys, darkens blues, plums and browns, adds excitement to prints and makes lacquered and glass items glow. Azoic's visceral impact triggers action and purpose, making it perfect for interiors, fashion and accessories, where it symbolises readiness and movement with dynamic finishes. This powerful colour, rooted in nature and the brain's motor systems, is impossible to ignore.

Here are two ideas using this colour trend in hues of Resene Chenin and Resene Wallpaper Collection SUM204 that you can try in your home:

March 2024: Technological, natural and immersive

Connection, the 2024 Asia Pacific Key Color, symbolises the blending of virtual and analogue worlds with a familiar, red-influenced medium chroma blue. Representing new innovations and technological advancements, Connection conveys comfort and trust. This versatile hue suits both residential and commercial interiors, coordinating with classic corporate colours and nature-inspired palettes. It pairs well with brown, beige, leafy greens, aqua, acid yellow, orange and metallics, making it ideal for visual communications and design prints. Embrace Connection to escape, immerse, and enjoy the unity of space and inhabitants.
