14 May 2024
What a colourful month for our readers. It is inspiring to see the creative use of colour and how it can impact a project and space. These projects are sure to get you inspired to pick up that brush – remember we love to see your finished projects so please do email us a photos and the Resene colours you used to editor@habitatbyresene.co.nz.
Mrs J’s Learning Space is a small owner operated after-school tuition centre based in a little village called Kirwee on the Canterbury Plains. “I decided to use Resene paints because of their excellent reputation and colour choice,” says owner Mandy. “I was starting from scratch, and because it’s my baby, not part of a franchise, I could choose any colours I liked. I used the colours I chose to create my logo for publicity, signage and business cards. Resene Colour Expert Meryl Southey’s help was invaluable in making my final decisions.”
Mandy chose the colours Resene First Light, Resene Citrus and Resene Hullabaloo, a great mix of vibrant shades. Visit Miss J’s Learning Space online for more info.
This proves your WC doesn’t have to be boring! Ingel from the Resene team spent his ANZAC weekend redecorating his WC and it is now a luxurious space – far from the plain white it was before. If you’re loving this look, take a look at the Resene Versace Wallpaper Collection for more inspiration. Ingel used Resene Wallpaper Collection 387056 for the ceiling and a matching pattern of Resene Wallpaper Collection 387066 for the walls.
Our reader Victoria has showcased her favourite colours in the most fantastic way! She has used the vibrant shades of Resene Butterfly, Resene Half Limerick, Resene Java, Resene Pompadour and Resene Gold Dust with Resene Apache as the undercoat. “I chose these colours to inspire creativity and fun when you enter the room,” Victoria says. “I repaired and painted this room for my business that is in the works. I love bright and fun colours and the gold adds a touch of elegance and helps to separate the colours. Many people doubted my colour options would work, but I was confident in my choices.”
If you’re in the market for a similar design, head to your local Resene ColorShop to get a mix of your own favourite colours in Resene testpots! All you need is some painters tape to create the pattern on the wall first, then fill in the shapes with your chosen shades!
Our reader Joan won a $500 Resene ColorShop voucher and this is the result of her spending. Her bedroom is now a gorgeous retreat painted in stunning colours with a floral feature wall. The walls are painted in Resene Double Sea Fog, ceiling in Resene Black White and the feature wall mural is Resene Wallpaper Collection P020-VD2. “I’m absolutely thrilled with the end result and the mural wallpaper was very easy for me to hang and makes a great statement,” Joan says.
You might have seen in our previous reader roundup General Manager of Jennian Homes Nelson Bays, Mark, getting out of the office to help with the clean-up and painting of the Nelson Netball Centre court seats in time for the season. The project involved rejuvenating all the 9 grandstand seats at the Saxon Fields Courts. Here is the final result of the seats painted in a custom Resene colour that matches the Jennian corporate colour ‘Jennian Red’.
“I approached Resene to come on board and supply tins of paint to support the project which was perfect for the job,” Mark says. “I have a history in the painting industry so got out on the tools with some of the Jennian Team to deliver the project. The result is an eye catching theme across the courts and Nelson Netball are stoked.”
